How cohesive cabinetry design and colour selections brought warmth, flow, and sophistication to a modern family home

Our recent interior design project on Lukin Street, Clayfield, is a perfect reflection of that philosophy.
Designing with Intention
This new build already had the makings of something special — soaring ceilings, clean lines, and an open layout with plenty of natural light. One Vision was brought on board to take the interiors to the next level, designing all cabinetry, specifying materials and finishes, and selecting the paint colours throughout.
Every choice was made with a sense of balance and cohesion in mind. From custom kitchen joinery to soft tonal transitions on walls and trims, we worked to create a space that felt both calm and elevated.
A Fireplace That Anchors the Space
One standout feature in the home is the in-built fireplace — custom-framed in Hebel with a seamless bench surround. This detail not only adds warmth (literally and visually) to the living area, but also serves as a striking architectural focal point. The use of Hebel allowed for a sleek, minimalist finish while staying true to the home’s modern aesthetic. Underneath, space for stacked firewood adds both function and charm and VJ panelled sliding doors were added on the adjacent walls to cover a TV when not in use.
It’s small details like this that bring personality and longevity to a new home.
Elevated Simplicity
Throughout the home, cabinetry design played a central role. In the kitchen, rich timber tones contrast with matte whites and stone surfaces for a grounded, sophisticated feel. In other areas, built-in joinery is integrated with care — never overwhelming, always enhancing.
The paint palette was chosen to soften transitions between spaces and allow the natural textures of timber, metal and stone to take the spotlight. Every material feels like it belongs.
The Outcome
What emerged is a modern family home that doesn’t shout — it speaks in considered, confident tones. Clean but never clinical. Textural but never fussy. The kind of space that invites you in and makes you want to stay a while.
